Walker Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram is in a Wrangler-dealing mood.
The dealership, which is just off the Hurricane exit of Interstate 64, has a huge selection of 2018 Jeep Wranglers in stock, and, to move them out, the family-owned dealership is offering big discounts.
General Manager Ryan Walker said his current Wrangler inventory offers a great selection of models, colors and trim levels.
The Wrangler is “the most recognizable Jeep product, and we’ve got a stockpile of the 2018s right now in the new body style. We’ve got probably over 30 in stock — probably one of the biggest selections of Wranglers we’ve ever had,” Walker said. “We’re in the mood to blow them out.”
With so many Wranglers in stock, Walker said now is a great time to get an even greater deal on the iconic Jeep model.
“Now is the time to take advantage of it, because we’ve got so many of them. You don’t see discounts on Wranglers very often,” he said. “We’re offering big discounts on them.”
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler underwent some body changes, while still maintaining the classic Jeep Wrangler look.
“They completely overhauled it. It has better technology and safety features.”
The new Jeep Wrangler also has available a new engine, a four-cylinder turbo.
“We’re selling quite a few of those, and they still make the six-cylinder (engine).”
The Jeep Wrangler comes in several different models, including the Sport, Sahara and Rubicon. They’re also available in two-door and four-door models.
Jeep Wranglers are also available in both automatic and manual transmissions, said New Car Sales Manager Butch Crittenden.
Additionally, tops are removable from all Wrangler models, and there’s a new feature called “My Sky.”
“It’s a power soft top that opens up the roof on it completely. With this, it peels back all the way with just the touch of a button,” Walker said.
Many Jeep Wrangler enthusiasts associate them with top-down summer driving, but, Walker said, with its four-wheel-drive pedigree, the Wrangler can’t be beat for wintertime driving.
“They’re an unbelievable four-wheel-drive vehicle — they’re probably better suited for extreme winter conditions.”
In a Wrangler, Walker said the driver selects when to put it into four-wheel-drive mode.
“You switch it in and out. It’s one of the few vehicles still out that you can select when you want to go into four-wheel-drive.”
The Jeep Wrangler appeals to a broad cross section of drivers and passengers.
“It touches all age groups, really,” Crittenden said. “From 8 to 80 — everybody wants one. It’s also got the number one resale value.”
“Everybody wants to own a Wrangler at some point in time,” Walker said.
And if you’re a deer hunter, the Jeep Wrangler is for you.
“Because of their off-road capabilities, they’ll get you into places to hunt that a four-wheeler can’t get you,” he said.
There are some exciting new colors in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, including a yellow hue called “Hella Yella” and a shade of orange called “Punk’n Metallic.”
Jeep Wranglers also get good gas mileage.
“I personally own one, and I’m getting around 20 miles to the gallon in a Rubicon,” Walker said, adding that the four-cylinder model gets even better gas mileage.
The new Wranglers are also comfortable on the highway.
“They’re a lot quieter than they used to be; everyone associates the Wrangler with the rough, four-wheel-drive ride, and it doesn’t have that anymore.”
