The iconic Chevrolet Blazer, one of General Motors’ most popular sport utility vehicle of decades past, made its debut again in 2019.
Making way for the 2020 Chevy Blazers, Walker Chevrolet, which is just off the Nitro exit of Interstate 64, has some great deals on remaining 2019 Blazers, said General Manager Frank McClung.
“It’s the all-new Chevrolet Blazer, and we currently have ‘19s and ‘20s in stock and ready,” McClung said.
“It’s redesigned, and it’s kind of based off of the old one, but it doesn’t look anything like it,” he said.
The new Chevy Blazer features an eye-catching exterior design as well as an interior that borrows from another Chevy mainstay, the Camaro sports car.
“The dash is set up identical to the Camaro. It looks good -- it’s classy.”
The Chevy Blazer is considered a mid-size SUV, and it’s a bit larger than the Chevy Equinox.
The Blazer offers a V-6 engine option that generates 308 horsepower, getting 18 to 25 miles to the gallon. The Blazer is also available with a 4-cylinder engine option. By contrast, McClung said, the Equinox is only available with 4-cylinder turbo engine.
The Blazer’s 4-cylinder option gets 22 to 27 miles per gallon and generates 193 horsepower.
The Chevy Blazer is also available in either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive configurations.
“If you order all-wheel-drive, it can be switched in and out.”
The Blazer is available in five different packages: L, which is the base model, followed by the 2LT, 3LT, RS and Premium packages.
The Chevy Blazer’s exterior can be customized.
“One of things I like about the Blazer is that you can change the outsides a lot. You can get black wheels, chrome wheels and, on the front, you can change the grille. You can make it look really sporty.”
Since its introduction in the 2019 model year, the Blazer has sold well at Walker Chevrolet.
As an added incentive to move out remaining ’19 Blazers, GM is offering up to $3,750 in rebates on them.
And McClung said there are attractive leasing options for those interested in driving a Blazer.
“Leasing on them is real good right now; it’s got real good residual value, which is what the vehicle is worth at the end of the (leasing) term,” McClung said. “I’ve leased a couple of them already this month.”
You can lease a Chevy Blazer for 12 months, 24 months or 36 months.
“They actually have a program for a 39-month lease, which gives you a little bit more mileage and lower payments,” he said.
Chevrolet describes the 2020 Blazer as having “Style with substance.”
Boldness to behold
With style of this stature, every drive is a chance to show off. Outside, it features a striking stance and ultra-thin LED daytime running lamps that give an aggressive look. Inside, it’s got available leather-appointed seating and a touch of chrome. With three exterior personalities, there’s sure to be a Blazer to suit you.
Tailor your space
With an available 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space, Blazer has you covered, whether you’re traveling light or packing for a long journey.
Cargo Management System
This available sturdy floor-mounted rail system helps keep your cargo secure as you move from point A to B. The available Flexible Cargo Partition and Horizontal Cargo Net can help prevent items like groceries, gardening tools or golf equipment from shifting.
On-road, off-road and everything in between
All-wheel drive is available on all Blazer 3.6L and 2.0L models and gives you added confidence in a variety of conditions. Additionally, RS and Premier models offer an available Advanced Twin-Clutch system that helps further driver control by independently directing torque to the wheel with the best traction.
