Chevrolet Silverado

The new-look 2019 Chevrolet Silverado trucks are now available at Hurricane Chevrolet, which is just off the Hurricane exit of Interstate 64. Pictured is the Crew Cab RST model.

As Hurricane Chevrolet General Manager Scott Bowyer parked a brand new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab pickup truck in front of the dealership, it was immediately apparent why it’s been described as “the next generation pickup for a new century of Chevy truck excellence.”

With its eye-catching new design — both inside and out — the newly designed Chevy Silverado for 2019 has it all: style, space, capability and high-strength steel construction.

At press time, Hurricane Chevrolet, which is just off the Hurricane exit of Interstate 64, had just taken delivery of a gleaming red 2019 Silverado Crew Cab RST.

And there are more on the way, Bowyer said.

“We’ve got several more in transit. It’s an all-new body — an all-new truck,” Bowyer said. “2014 was the last big body style change.”

West Virginia is truck country, and the Chevy Silverado is a consistent best seller at Hurricane Chevrolet.

“It’s one of our top sellers.”

Bowyer said the 2019 Silverado Crew Cab edition is the only configuration being offered until after the first of the year. The Crew Cab features a back seat and four, full-sized doors, making it an attractive design for families.

“Trucks aren’t just work vehicles anymore — they’re family vehicles. They ride well,” he said.

For 2019, there are eight Silverado trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and the top-of-the-line High Country. Three of those trim levels — the Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss and RST — are new for 2019.

In addition to an all-new design, the 2019 Chevy Silverado has “all kinds of advanced technology,” Bowyer said.

For example, when it comes to towing trailers, Silverado has the technology and the muscle for the job.

In addition to cameras, Silverado’s Advanced Trailering System features an Infotainment Trailering App on the vehicle’s touch-screen. The app contains specific trailer profiles, a pre-departure checklist, trailer tire monitoring and trailer theft detection, and it informs the driver “trailer detected” when hitching.

Silverado also has available the Hitch Guidance with Hitch View. The Silverado’s Rear Vision Camera provides a dynamic guidance line for both the truck and trailer hitch. Hitch View mode is designed to help the driver zoom in on the hitch for precise maneuvering.

Additionally, the Advanced Trailering System features:

• Hitch Area Lighting

• Trailer Light Test

• Auto Electric Parking Brake Assist, standard on LTZ and High Country and available on LT, RST and LT Trail Boss.

The 2019 Chevy Silverado also features a new Durabed cargo area. It has best-in-class cargo volume, box depth, box length at floor and segment-leading 12 fixed tie-downs and exclusive power up/down tailgate.

“It’s the most functional (cargo) bed in the segment,” Bowyer said.

And for the 2019 Silverado, Hurricane Chevrolet will continue to offer the popular “Rocky Ridge” lifted trucks.

“They put the lift kits on them,” he said. “We just call them and tell them what we need, and they send them to us.”

Silverado’s interior is also redesigned for 2019.

The next-generation Silverado takes space, convenience and comfort to the next level with a cabin offering more rear leg room, more storage space and enhanced climate controls.

“They have extra storage inside the rear seat,” said Hurricane Chevrolet Sales Manager Dick Drury. “The rear seat actually opens up and you have storage inside.”

To make room for the new 2019 Silverado, Hurricane Chevrolet is offering great savings on remaining 2018 Silverado trucks.

“We’ve got great sales on the remaining ’18 models that we have in stock. We’ve got big rebates on them,” Bowyer said. “We’ve got huge discounts on them – they’re priced to sell.”
