Putting deals together and seeing the happy faces of satisfied customers has kept Luis Rivera a happy man.
Rivera is Hurricane Chevrolet’s finance manager, and nothing satisfies him more than helping customers obtain the vehicle of their dreams.
With 20 years of experience in dealership finance departments, Rivera has gained the knowledge and developed the contacts needed to help customers, no matter what shape their credit histories might be in.
“We look at their credit, and we find out what the best options are for them,” Rivera said.
Hurricane Chevrolet General Manager Scott Bowyer said Rivera is one of the best finance managers in the business.
“He has vast knowledge of the automotive finance business,” Bowyer said.
Hurricane Chevrolet works with a number of banks and financial institutions.
“GM Financial is our main bank,” Rivera said.
When it comes to financing a vehicle, Hurricane Chevrolet can work with just about anyone’s credit situation.
Depending on the specific “structure of the deal, normally we get it worked out,” Rivera said.
“We can work with any credit situation,” Bowyer said. “We’ve got lenders that will help.”
Rivera was born and raised in Puerto Rico. After joining the Army, he came to the United States in 1977. His first duty station was in South Carolina.
The “car business,” he said, has been good to him.
“I wish I had got into the car business 40 years ago instead of 20 years ago. It’s enjoyable and challenging, getting a customer done and then making them feel good about themselves when they purchase a car,” Rivera said.
He said it’s especially rewarding when Hurricane Chevrolet puts together a deal that perhaps couldn’t have been done at another dealership.
“When we put a deal together that was almost an impossible deal, and a customer has been to other dealerships and they can’t get it done, and we put it together – that feels good. It’s challenging and it’s rewarding,” he said.
Part of that success in putting together deals is Hurricane Chevrolet’s relationship with GM Financial.
“We have special programs with GM Financial,” Bowyer said. “We’re able to put deals together that other dealerships won’t be able to put together.”
When it comes to finance, Hurricane Chevrolet’s experience runs deep.
Rivera, Bowyer and Sales Manager Dick Drury have more than 50 years of combined experience in automobile finance.
So when it comes to putting deals together, “Come see us first, or come see us last, but come see us,” Bowyer said. “We can put deals together that no one else can.”
Hurricane Chevrolet, which is just off the Hurricane exit of Interstate 64, has a huge inventory of new Chevrolet cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles.
“We’ve got more new ‘19s on the way,” Drury said.
Among the best sellers at Hurricane Chevrolet are the Chevy Silverado trucks. And there are attractive rebates on remaining 2018 Silverado trucks.
“We have a lot of ’18 model Crew Cabs that have a tremendous amount of rebate monies” available, Drury said.
At press time, Hurricane Chevrolet had four 2018 Silverado Rocky Ridge lifted trucks for sale.
“They’re all Crew Cabs,” he said.
Rocky Ridge offers 10 different custom packages available for the Silverado 1500 and 2500. From conquering the outdoors to looking stylish in the city, you can’t beat the feel and performance of a Rocky Ridge truck.
Rocky Ridge’s custom-developed lift kits and tire packages take your Chevy higher than ever before.
Hurricane Chevrolet also maintains an extensive inventory of pre-owned vehicles. And no matter if you’re buying new or used, the Hurricane Chevrolet staff has the expertise to help you.
“They go through extensive Chevrolet training; all our sales people and managers are GM certified,” Bowyer said.
“The sales people go through training on a quarterly basis, so it’s a year-round thing,” Drury said. “They take new tests all the time.”
