Get into the back country on your next hunting trip in a quality, pre-owned truck or SUV from Henry Marino’s Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall in Nitro.
Four-wheel-drive trucks and SUVs, such as Fords, Rams, Chevys and GMCs, are perfect vehicles for hunters needing rugged dependability and hauling power without sacrificing comfort.
And Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall, 400 First Ave., South, near the foot of the Nitro-St. Albans Bridge, has them at affordable prices, said Town & Country General Manager Chris Marino.
“Snow season and hunting season are right around the corner. You’ve got to haul that deer in the back of it,” Marino said. “People love trucks, and we have a lot of nice trucks.”
“It’s four-wheel-drive season,” said Town & Country sales representative Tom Elgin.
At press time, Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall had a black, one-owner 2015 Ram truck on the lot. It has only 14,000 miles on the odometer and is listed at $23,900.
“It’s four-wheel-drive,” Elgin said.
Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall has used trucks priced from around $13,000 up to $30,000.
Marino said the lower-priced trucks at Town & Country tend to be a few years older with higher miles on their odometers.
“If you want a low-priced truck, it’s going to have some miles on it,” Marino said.
Regardless of the mileage, all vehicles offered for sale at Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall are inspected in the dealership’s service department.
Elgin said even though a vehicle, such as a used truck, might have 100,000 miles or more on the odometer, that doesn’t mean it’s at the end of its life cycle.
“Nowadays, 100,000 to 200,000 miles is nothing on a vehicle,” he said.
That’s because vehicles now are better made, using quality parts and incorporating computerization.
“The technology is a lot better. They’ve got a lot of life left in them.”
Elgin said trucks also get excellent gas mileage.
“They’ve come a long way gas mileage-wise. The V-8s normally get anywhere from 21 to 22 miles to the gallon on the highway.”
In trucks, Elgin said customers generally prefer their trucks to have V8 engines in them.
“People prefer V8s because of the towing capacity – you want something that’s going to be able to tow,” he said. “The V8 has more towing power.”
Most of the pre-owned trucks at Town & Country come with trailer hitches on them.
“That’s mostly standard anymore, because people like to haul campers.”
Beyond their hauling and towing uses, trucks over the years have evolved into comfortable road vehicles for families. Many of them come with extended cabs and four doors.
“They ride like cars anymore,” Elgin said. “It’s comfort, convenience and reliability.”
For those worried about snow season, Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall also has a nice selection of SUVs.
“We have all the major brands — Jeep, Chevy, GMC.”
At press time, Town & Country had a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV in the “Z71 package.”
“It’s loaded up and only has 120,000 miles on it for under $11,000.”
Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall has its own service department that’s open to anyone whose vehicles need basic maintenance and repair.
With cold-weather driving season nearing, Elgin said it’s wise to have Town & Country’s service department check your vehicle over to make sure it’s ready for winter driving.
“This is a good time of year to make sure your car is in shape for the winter time,” Elgin said.
Town & Country’s service department is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Town & Country Preowned Auto Mall is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
